About
International Parents seeks to bring together all those internationally minded parents in major ( and smaller) cities around the world. We have common interests and concerns, notably: relocating with children; language acquisition for adults and young ones; bilinguilism; work for the accompanying spouse and socializing in a new environment.
We’re locally active in Provence, the Aix-Marseille region. We’ve just started connecting online through an online discussion list, with questions, want ads and son access to service providers. Use the Comments option after each post to communicate with us and introduce yourself if you’d like to join.

Dear Parents,
We will move to Marseille next year 2009 with our daughter who is bilingual french-english.
We search some informations about having an “au-pair” native english girl with us. We both will get positions at the University of Provence - Aix Marseille 1 university and certainly be living in the Marseille downtown.
Thanks for any information.
With our best regards,
Yves Guglielmi
Dear Yves,
You have several options for au pairs:
- find her by a post on an au pair site
- find her through an agency
- find her through friends of friends
Good recommendations for the first two options and contacts through friends are exactly what i’m trying to offer parents through the InternationalParents network.
It takes a lot of effort to build this! Tell your contact at the university they need to take an interest in networks like this one to help professors like you better manage their relocation. That could help us become a reality.
In the meantime, your comment is on the site, so its potentially visible by an au pair. And I’ll do a post on finding an au pair in France. When I do that post, and even now, look at the ads on the right, they could be potential service providers.
